About the Program

The Mu Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® proudly presents the Pearls of Promise Debutante Cotillion, a signature youth development and scholarship fundraising program honoring young women who exemplify scholarship, leadership, service, and poise. Rooted in the sorority’s legacy of excellence, the program prepares participants to become confident leaders and engaged citizens while supporting the chapter’s community initiatives.

Program Overview

The Pearls of Promise Debutante Cotillion provides junior and senior young women with a transformative experience focused on personal growth, academic achievement, and civic responsibility. The program is guided by core pillars aligned with the International Program Initiatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®:

• Financial Empowerment

• Environmental Stewardship

• Community Service

 

Through these pillars, participants are cultivated to become scholars, leaders, and changemakers equipped to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Emerging Pearls

The program includes both senior debutantes, who are eligible to compete for scholarship awards, and junior participants, recognized as Emerging Pearls. Emerging Pearls participate in a preparatory and enrichment experience focused on leadership development, academic excellence, service, and personal growth. While not eligible for scholarship awards, Emerging Pearls are recognized through merit-based honors, educational incentives, and distinguished program awards, ensuring meaningful recognition of their dedication and achievements.

Interested applicants are encouraged to carefully review all eligibility requirements and submit a completed application within the designated application window. Selected participants will be notified via email following the application review process.
